I have spent two decades looking after people with hand injuries ranging from finger tip injuries to microsurgical replantation of amputated hands.

A wide range of disability results from hand injuries, some of which can be improved with later surgery.  While the immediate repairs are inevitably carried out in the public hospital, later surgery can often be done privately, funded by ACC.

In addition there are many hand problems not related to injury and remediable by surgery.  I have listed some common ones.  Look through these descriptions.  You may find what is wrong with your hand here.
