If you can’t breathe properly through your nose this obstruction can be caused by swelling of the lining of the nose, e.g. from allergy or infection. For this the treatment is clearly not surgical! However, if the obstruction is structural, modifications can be made which may clear the obstruction.
A common cause of structural nasal obstruction is a crooked septum. The septum is the partition between the two sides of the nose. It is a sandwich of lining-cartilage-lining in front and lining-bone-lining behind.
The lining can be lifted and the septal skeleton trimmed or reshaped to get the septum positioned more nearly in the midline. This operation is called a Septoplasty. When combined with refinement of the external nose it is a Septorhinoplasty.

Ideally a consultation should be face to face but is certainly possible to arrange a telephone consultation. If you can email the photos first so much the better. If it is clear what procedure is required then the in-person consultation can be the day before or the morning of the surgery.
